  39. .I thumbnail
  40. is a program written to show how one might use the
  41. SubIFD tag (#330) to store thumbnail images.

  43. copies a
  44. .SM TIFF
  45. Class F facsimile file to the output file
  46. and for each image an 8-bit greyscale
  47. .IR "thumbnail sketch" .
  48. The output file contains the thumbnail image with the associated
  49. full-resolution page linked below with the SubIFD tag.

  51. By default, thumbnail images are 216 pixels wide by 274 pixels high.
  52. Pixels are calculated by sampling and filtering the input image
  53. with each pixel value passed through a contrast curve.
